Warm Weather Concrete Curing
- Keep the temperature of you concrete mix down.
- Maintain your relative humidity.
- Keep the sun off of your forms - avoid dry cracking
- Keep the wind off of your forms - avoid plastic shrinkage
- Protect your employees from the hot sun.
The Chamtech Rollcov-R™; the most economical & reliable solution to your spring, summer & fall concreting challenges:
The ACI 305 standard (Specification For Hot Weather Curing) is easy to meet when you produce using the Rollcov-R™:
- Reliably maintain the relative humidity around your forms:
The Rollcov-R™ provides an environment that seals in moisture. The PVC shell is impermeable and works like a curing blanket BUT without all of the unpredictable maintenance and high labor costs required. The Rollcov-R™ can be designed to incorporate misting fans as well.
- Protect your forms, wire/rebar & employees from the sun:
Preparation prior to pouring can be a challenge with all of the precautions required under the hot morning sun. The Rollcov-R™ allows you to work under-cover so that the sun stays off of your employees and forms. Adjustable ventilation flaps can be installed to provide air circulation when needed.- Protect your forms from the wind - eliminate undesirable evaporation:
The simple solution to this common problem is to extend the Rollcov-R™ to cover your forms!
According to the ACI 305.1-8, when the rate of evaporation approaches 1 kg/m.sq./hr (0.2 lb/ft.sq./hr) precautions against plastic-shrinkage cracking are necessary. This is accomplished, with the Rollcov-R, by eliminating the wind (or forced air).- Avoid the huge capital investments and lead times of new buildings and/or additions:
Do you have long-term plans for the construction of a new building? Permanent buildings are costly and get delayed by red-tape and permits. Bid on new projects knowing that you can cost-effectively increase your production capacity within weeks of winning the contract. The Rollcov-R™ costs a fraction of a new building while yielding similar results.
